A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

Are we there yet?

Our five adventurers start out as members of a loose nit caravan on their way to the village of Winterhaven. Among the caravan is an artisan blacksmith seeking training, a journemen tailor looking to sell her wares, a pious (yet drunken) cleric making a deliver of sacred wine and our adventurers:

*Bargain Ben Steprite. Gnome Merchant!, Tinkerer!, Invoker Extraordinaire!
*Arwa Samak “The Winterdaughter”. Barbaric Giantess of the cold north! She and Ben travel to Winterhaven in search of thier old friend and adventuring mentor, Douven Staul, who recently went missing! Douven’s last known location was Winterhaven, where he hoped to find buried treasure in an anceint dragon’s tomb near the village. What will they find when they arrive?
*Sven “The Bull” Gravolno. Mercenary!, Soldier of Fortune!, Hitman!, …Thug. This Minator has has names and had many vocations, none of which have fit him as aptly as “The Bull”. Down on his luck, Sven later meets up with Arwa, an old business associate, seeking to turn a quick profit.

*Einhander Johnson. Noble Paladin of the Dragon Born! Ein seeks to protect the weak!, liberate the oppressed!, oppose evil on all fronts!, …and earn a few coins along the way. Maybe get a little notoriety while he’s at it. Perhaps sign a book deal about tales of his adventures “Triumphing over Evil”. That wouldn’t be sooo bad, would it?
*Sage Johansen. Elf Bard of the Fey Wilds! She travels along side her mate and hero Ein “the bold”, generously lending her considerable healing talents and deadly crossbow to all her allies.

*Tynan Doomhall. Teifling Warlock of the Infernal Pact! Tynan seeks to lift the curse of an ancient demon and restore the honor of his once noble family. Clues gathered by an old friend, who once was an underworld contact, have led him to a man known only to him as Valthrun. Will he find the information he so desperately seeks?

Along the Kings’ Road, half a day’s ride out from Winterhaven, the caravan is attacked! A rag-tag band of Kobold bandits ambush the travelors and the five adventurers fight back. All are saved but the drunken cleric who falls prey to the little reptilian creatures, and dragged from his cart of sacred wine. After the adventurers clear the road way of further danger, the caravan continues on its way to the village of Winterhaven, all the while lamenting the loss of the cleric.

In Winterhaven

-They deliver the cleric’s wine and recieve a quest to search out evidence of death cults within winterhaven and stamp them out. The group inquires of Douven Staul, and set off after him the next day.

-They find the dragon tomb an active excavation site and are ambushed. They defeat thier attakers and find Douven’s remains, plus a few extra artifacts.
-After camping the night, the group heads to the old ruins to map them out for a scholar named Parle Cranewing. They complete thier work in short order and discover a chest of old books. They return to Valthrun with the chest who rewards them, collecting also their reward from Parle.
-They spend some time in Winterhaven and find that word of thier exploits are begining to spread. The sage Valthrun brings them a request for the absent Lord Padraig. Kobold attacks are on the rise along the Kings’ Road. Discover thier source and put an end to them.
-The group ventures out the next day and are best upon by a band of Kobold bandits. They soundly defeat thier attakers but not before getting the location of their hide out. The group travels there and begin thier silent assault.
-Thier cover is eventually blown and so the group fights for their life as hoards of Kobold swarm out with a powerful looking goblin at their head. Tynan and Ben fall in combat but Arwa saves the day, hacking the head off the goblin leader.
-The group returns some days later, after convelesing Tynan and Ben back to health, and receive a Heroes’ welcome as they enter Winterhaven.
-Our heroes gain information on the death cults and chase a mysterious cultist out of the village. With the insight of the local sage, they set out to the ruins of the keep in search of the source of these death cultists.

Ruins of the Keep

The group enters the ruins and begin thier exploration. They find and defeat several goblin soldiers, eventally leading to thier commander.

The group defeats thier commander and discover he is in league with a powerful necromancer named Kalarel, but are unable to discover anything more from the fat goblin. They proceed into a small excavation site and after defeating the goblin workers…and an ancient golem that was mistakenly activated…the discover that Kalarel is searching for artifacts, and that he is seeking to reopen an ancient rift to the Shadowfell that was sealed long ago.

They proceed to explore the rest of the rooms and through connecting caves, stumbling upon the tomb of Sir Keegan, the knight that originally sealed and protected the rift. He awards the group with his sword and instructs them on how to find and defeat Kalarel. After triggering the necromancers many fear wards and defeating a small army of zombies, the group finds the sealed door leading down toward Kalarel. Near it they discover a hidden room. After solving the riddle provided to them they uncover a trove of magical armor and weapons.

It is at this time that the brave warlock Tynan suddenly leaves the group, having received a vital correspondance from a shadowy figure.

The group sadly continues onward, lamenting the absence of thier powerful ally.

Ruins of the Keep 2nd level

Our heroes dcipher the riddle of the sealed door and proceed deeper into the underbelly of the ruined keep. They run into a group of heavily armed Hobgoblins who stop them and ask for the pass phrase. Ben uses his considerable bargaining tallents to discover the pass phrase adn confuse the two guards. Other hobgoblins appear however and a giant attack spider is released.

Our heroes survive the chaos the ensues and defeat the armed hobgoblin soldiers, proceeding into their barricks. They defeat the rest of the hobgoblins and proceed into thier leader’s council chamber. A trap is sprung however and an iron portculis falls from the ceiling, dividing the group. While ben and arwa fight to open the portculis, Ein, Sage and Sven battle the Hobgoblin commander and his considerable forces.

Quick thinking and superior tactical maneuvering by Ein and Sven however slants the odds to their favor and in short time the commander and his forces are vanquished. All are slain save one hobgoblin soldier that surrendered, begging for his chance to serve them.
